we are moving!
Locking up the old farmhouse in Valle Crucis for the last time brought with it a flood of memories and emotions. Sadness to be sure, but mostly just a lot of gratitude. I am grateful for the Taylors that built the house overlooking the valley, the families that kept it standing, and for Steve and Alison Garrett who entrusted Megan and I with its care for a little more than a decade.
I’m thankful for the countless guests that celebrated with us, entrusting us to create a special and unique memory for them and for the hundreds of staff members that came through those doors, and for a moment in their life shared a community with us. And for my family - my parents for their constant support, my wife Megan, who not only listened to me complain about the restaurant business every night, but added her creative flair and made the restaurant look great time and time again, and my kids, who learned young the sacrifices restaurant families make.
Yet change happens, and when life gives us lemons we find a way to make lemonade (specifically, ginger mint lemonade!)
We are thrilled to announce that Over Yonder has found a new home in Boone at the Rhode’s Motor Lodge on Blowing Rock Rd! Owned and operated by Loden Hospitality out of Raleigh, NC, Rhode’s Motor Lodge is a meticulously renovated mid-century modern boutique hotel, and I believe the perfect place for Over Yonder’s next stage of its restaurant life.
We will be operating “pop-up” style for the next few weeks until we are ready to fully open for lunch and dinner - serving some old favorites as well as trying out some new things - every Friday and Saturday night beginning March 21st from 5-9 pm.
Thank you for all the love we felt when we closed Over Yonder, it truly meant the world to us, we hope to see all those familiar faces in town soon!
Onward!
-Andy
